IGN recently wrote an article entitled Fact or Fiction II: Ten More of the Biggest Rumors on the PlayStation 2.
In part of it they talk about how the big three games companies seek developers that will show their platform in the best light. They list some teams that have already been snatched up:

Nintendo has Retro Studios and Silicon Knights; Microsoft has Bungie and Rare; and Sony has Polyphony Digital and Cambridge Studios.
