That’s what we called the process of moving 4 people between 5 houses in 6 days. And it ended on Tuesday, successfully.

I missed most of the fun because I was away at the Reading Festival, but I won the award for the quickest move of all. It all went in one load of the van (which James got quite attached to), and was loaded, moved and unloaded by James and myself in two and a half hours!

ntl reconnected all my services (phone, cable TV and cable modem) on Wednesday almost without problem, which was pretty surprising. The only hitch was that my cable modem wasn’t working properly – I could ping machines on the internet, but not connect to them via any protocols. After a ten minute wait on the support line, the engineer worked out that I needed to revisit the registration site that you use when first setting up the broadband service. It fixed the problem, but was strange as others that have moved haven’t needed to do it. Oh well – at least I’m able to post this now.
